Bespoke Designs

Whilst I am primarily a web-developer, I can also design for the web. Over the years I have been asked to produce a range of styles (sites, logos, characters), here are just a few examples spanning my 12 professional years. If you have JavaScript you should experience a slideshow... if not, then the scroll bar is your friend :)

2011 - Codelamp

In case you were wondering, I designed my own site ;) It took me a day of playing in photoshop and manually typing up the HTML/CSS template using TextMate. However, it took a while longer than that to gather all my work in to one easy-to-navigate place & to develop the sites bespoke JavaScript.

The template is designed to work on any size of display, to degrade elegantly when browser features are missing, to be SEO friendly and obviously to be easy to use - qualities that should be prevalent in any modern design.

2011 - CécileOdero.co.uk

Cécile - a fellow web developer - asked me if I could design a site, one that she would use to develop her multi-lingual CV. The design had to be eye-catching but not take over or detract from the site's main focus - her web development.

2005 - DS Woodworks

DS Woodworks needed a simple clean logo, business card and site design, that's what I provided (screenshots are of a slightly revamped version).

2003 - The Troubadour, London

The Troubadour The Troubadour

Whilst working for Fubra I was asked to design and build the main site for this quirky yet peaceful café / bar / deli / gallery... :) It had to capture the feel of the place whilst being simple, quick and easy to use. For the time, this meant avoiding large imagery and keeping the navigation obvious. I also had to build an admin panel for this site, which allowed for quite complex content management & café menu creation.

2005/06 - Unilever AGMs

Unilever Touch Screen Unilever Touch Screen

Whilst working for myself I was tasked with creating a fully customizable touchscreen system for Unilever to use at their AGMs. Built in flash, the interface was powered by an XML/HTML style layout engine, which supported multiple pages and multi-level navigation. Content could also easily be edited via modifying simple content text files.

2005 - OurProperty.co.uk

OurProperty OurProperty

One of Fubra's key sites was initially designed by me, although five years on it's been revamped in to a much more complex animal :)
